What grade do you learn multiplication?

Advancing from addition/subtraction to multiplication is a big step for students. They will begin to understand number values and basic counting in Kindergarten as well as learning that addition means adding and subtraction means taking something away. In first and second grade, students learn to represent and solve addition/subtraction equations and extend their counting sequences. In third grade, students begin to learn their multiplication facts and times tables.
