How many multiplication facts are there?

There is an infinite number of multiplication facts because numbers continue indefinitely! Students typically learn 144 of these multiplication facts from 1 to 12. Often multiplication facts are presented in a multiplication or times table.  These mathematical tables were first used by the ancient Babylonians more than 4,000 years ago with a few even surviving so we can study how these ancient cultures used math.
