What grade do you learn division?

Students will begin to learn division after they understand basic multiplication facts, usually by the end of third grade. Students will start by learning to represent and solve addition and subtraction problems in the first and second grades, so they are ready for the more advanced multiplication and division concepts. As students enter their fourth and fifth-grade years, they will progress to long division with multi-digit numbers and remainders when the number cannot be separated into equal parts.
