What are signs of intelligence in toddlers?

Some toddlers may show signs of being gifted when they understand and master basic concepts early and quickly.  Some of these children have a much larger vocabulary and may learn to read a bit earlier.  They may demonstrate advance reasoning skills and progress quickly through learning activities.  Even if you discover your child is gifted, it is important to remember that children are complex and while being gifted in some areas they may struggle in others.  All children will learn and grow at their own pace, find ways to engage your toddler every day to help them develop their own creative and critical thinking skills.
