How do you use alphabet flash cards?
Parents and caregivers can use alphabet flash cards to practice letter and sound fluency. By using flash cards, children will start to form an understanding of the letter name, the sound the letter makes, and a picture that represents that letter. This learning engages your child by using both auditory and visual learning. A fun way to begin is by teaching your child the letters in their name. Lay out the cards in order and practice the letter names and sounds. As your child learns new letters begin to slowly add a few more to the mix. Go back and review the letters and sounds they have learned to check for retention. Practice in short sessions each day and use lots of positive reinforcement with your young learner.
